Meet the 2018 Chiefs Interns
Good afternoon Chiefs fans!
The 2018 Peoria Chiefs season is almost here and that also means the constant blog posts on Playing in Peoria are as well.
I’m Danny Frey, the Broadcast/Media Assistant in 2018. I will be updating this blog along with assisting Nathan Baliva with various duties including the broadcasts of Chiefs games on peoriachiefs.com & TuneIn Radio. I recently graduated from Western Illinois University and am currently wrapping up my fourth season as the radio voice of WIU women’s basketball. Previously in baseball I have worked in the summer collegiate leagues for the past two seasons. While being from Springfield, Illinois my favorite sports teams are split as I’m a diehard fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Bears.
Bridger Young joins the Chiefs this season as the club’s Social Media Intern. He is a graduate of Michigan State University and is originally from Bay City, Michigan. Bridger is coming from the west coast where he worked on the street team and did in-game promotions for the San Jose Sharks. First and foremost his favorite sports team is Tottenham Hotspur F.C. but Bridger also pulls for squads from his native Michigan and Cam Newton is his favorite player.
Riley Caldwell begins his first job in sports as the Sales Intern for the Chiefs in 2018. The University of Illinois senior hails from sunny Tucson, Arizona. When it comes to favorite sports teams, it’s easy for Riley: every Chicago team minus the White Sox.
Lindsay White is returning for a second season as Video Assistant. She’s a Public Relations major at Illinois State and plans to graduate in December 2018. Lindsay is a big-time Cardinals fan, and her fun fact is also a tasty one: her mother owns a pizza restaurant in her home town of Le Roy, Illinois.
Liz Johnson is also in her second season with the Chiefs, serving as the Graphic Design Assistant. She is currently a Graphic Design and Sculpture major at Bradley University. The Bradley senior graduated high school with just 24 classmates.
Stephen Brown will spend 2018 as a Marketing & Promotions Intern for the Chiefs. An alumnus of Indiana University, Stephen brings an extensive background working in sports to Peoria. The Zionsville, Indiana native worked in sports marketing at his alma mater, ticket sales with the Cincinnati Bengals and in merchandise/facilities for the Indiana Pacers. He is a Pacers and Dodgers fan, but his heart is with his Hoosiers. Stephen is our resident “back up National Anthem singer” due to his experience as a singer in clubs belting Frank Sinatra tunes.
Rounding out this year’s intern group is Jordan Maxwell. Jordan will graduate from Eureka College next winter and is from Cuba, Illinois where she played high school sports with fellow Chiefs intern Liz Johnson. At Eureka, Jordan is a game day student worker at Red Devil sporting events. The Chicago Cubs fan is a basketball fanatic as she cheers on the UConn women’s basketball team and the Los Angeles Sparks of the WNBA.
Now that you know the 2018 Peoria Chiefs Intern Staff, get ready for previews of the 2018 players coming soon on Playing in Peoria.
